Hi, fellow vinyl enthusiasts! My name is Russ Hawkins. I am 25 years old and come from a family of audiophiles with a never-ending love for vinyl, turntables, and record players. You can happily call me the vinyl geek behind TurntableTrends.com.
my journey of turntable obsession
My love for turntables and record players started at a very early age when my grandfather introduced me to his favorite Sinatra album that he played on his HMV gramophone (yes, it’s vintage!). I was simultaneously mesmerized and amazed by its ability to produce music from a simple round black disc “vinyl record.”
Then came my dad with his undying love for Backstreet Boys and collecting vinyl. Rather than keeping it as a hobby, he turned it into a passion and set up his studio to sell everything music. Helping him in the studio allowed me to understand different types of vinyl, turntables, and record players.
Growing up in a family with a history of collecting vinyl and record players, I can proudly say I know a lot about what works for different homes, different layouts, and different tastes and preferences. This led me to the idea of creating something through which I can share this information, and that’s how turntabletrends.com came into existence.
I have created this website keeping a beginner and a pro-level turntable enthusiast in mind. Whether exploring the world of turntables and vinyl for the first time or looking to update your existing turntable setup, this website will always be your go-to resource.
